The Gift
136 words
Pilot breathed a happy sigh as he worked. At long last there would be peace on Moya, he was sure of it. The littlest crew member was teething, and had taken to crying nonstop while awake, despite every attempt to soothe him.
But this was sure to work. After all Crichton had said that this melody was from a children’s program. Combined with Little D’Argo’s infatuation with DRDs, it should provide a fine distraction.
“Commander, it is finished.”

Pilot nudged the purple and green DRD with a claw. The little DRD started to spin in a circle, cheerfully playing a recorded song.
“Oh man… I’ve got a very bad feeling about this.”
Barney the DRD joyfully exclaimed, “I love you, you love me. We’re a happy family….”
